Cash back mortgages
A cash back mortgage is a mortgage in which the client receives an amount of money from the borrower at the start of the mortgage, usually to alleviate the financial strain of house moving.
Flexible Mortgages
As the name suggests, this type of mortgage is more adaptable to the borrower's needs. It allows the client to make variable payments (over-payments or under-payments) or to take a break or holiday from payments altogether.
As the interest for this type of mortgage is calculated daily, rather than monthly or annually, any capital repayment of the loan will make an immediate affect on the interest charged on the remaining balance. Higher rates of interest can be charged for this service than for standard home loans.
Non-status Mortgages
A mortgage that is available to everyone. With this sort of mortgage the borrower is not required to submit proof of their income.
Repayment Mortgages
With this sort of mortgage monthly repayments covers repayment of the loan itself as well as the interest on it.
Interest-only Mortgages
With this type of mortgage the client pays only the interest on the sum of money borrowed. Usually this is accompanied by payment into some kind of investment product such as an endowment, ISA or pension plan, which will be used to make repayment at the end of the term.
